Everything has a beginning. Helifuel came in 1996 when Oddvar Østensvik launched the company on the basis of his experience from refuelling helicopters in the North Sea and his friend’s MBA which showed there was room for a professional Norwegian manufacturer of helicopter refuelling systems in the maritime sector. They quit their former employer and established their own company. Its history since then has proved that even if it was a daring decision it was not a leap in the dark.
Admittedly, the beginning was modest enough, when the closest family of the two entrepreneurs were mobilized to assist with the first "baby" sold to an oil company operating in the North Sea. From that point onwards all the arrows have pointed skywards and Helifuel has envolved into one of the World's leading manufacturers in this sector. What's more, it is the only producer in our time manufacturing only helicopter refuelling systems. More than 200 units of different standards were produced during the first dozen years. As a special service to needy customers ready made Helicopter refuelling systems are stored in Houston and at the factory in Norway. Phone, and they are shipped within hours. Normally it takes 1-2 months to produce them.
The export rate of the company, which started at 30 per cent, is now regularly hovering around 90. And, fortunately, it is also earning money.
The upward mobility of Helifuel is partly due to the fact that like a racehorce it also runs on four strong legs: offshore, naval, shipping and special vessels. Moreover, to keep in the same picture, it is not only running all over the world but even in the extreme corners of it. And there are few limits of what goods it can bring to you: conceptual design, engineering, manufacturing, testing, installation and comissioning. And past this stage Helifuel provides the services required throughout the lifetime of what it has sold to you, including maintenance, calibration, re-certification, up-grading and de-comissioning.
The staff is always ready to embark on the next international flight out of Stavanger wherever and whenever they are needed, on a 365 day basis, to serve you with filters and other spare parts, training courses for both fuelling operations and maintenance and any other quiries you might have.

The answer is relax. Helifuel is taking care of also that problem. It manages a fully updated list of rules and technical regulations governing the operations of maritime helicopter refuelling systems all over the World. The company can't afford to make any mistakes because that is where one of its strong points are.
