Safety reminder
The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico in April is a serious reminder about the importance for safety in the oil industry. Safety and quality assurance have always been key focus for Helifuel AS.
So says Managing Director Oddvar Østensvik in a comment about the largest oil spill in USA ever.
- I am not trying to blame anyone for this accident, I just want to underline that safety is not something that can be compromised with in the oil industry.
Higher quality equipment will have higher cost. You can see this from all parts of the industry, both offshore and elsewhere.
Helifuel is in many occasions not the lowest bidder quoting helicopter refueling systems but has still been chosen as the preferred vendor. The buying criteria’s is not always price.
Many offshore operators have high focus on quality when purchasing as they know it is the basis for safety. Helifuel have been chosen several times as the preferred vendor as we during many years in the international market have gained trust as a credible vendor with quality products.
Quality cannot be gained once and for all, you need to work constantly with quality assurance maintain your complete product. Therefore quality assurance is also something the operators in the offshore industry emphasize, says Østensvik.
